Valkyrie Elite Yorkies

How our puppies are raised:
We are an in home Good Dog certified breeding program! This means we have been thoroughly inspected and approved as a responsible breeder of healthy Yorkshire Terriers. All of our puppies are raised indoors with our family. We believe daily human interaction and exposure to everyday noises and textures is critical for the development of any puppy. This in not something we feel can be accomplished in an outdoor kennel based facility.
We choose to provide our breeding females with indoor whelping areas that are located right next to a bed so that i can attend every birth (and if I am lucky also catch a few minutes of rest.) Our adults have a secured outdoor area where they can come and go as they please through the doggy door during the day when we are home to supervise.
Puppies are kept inside where they are handled multiple times a day and start litter training at 3 weeks of age. We have been pretty successful with this and not only helps to keep everyone clean but teaches them good habits for easy house training at their new homes. We wait until 7 weeks to evaluate puppies temperaments for placement. This helps us to identify each puppy's strongest personality traits in order to best match each puppy with a new family.
All puppies go through early neurological stimulation (ENS) exercises from day 3 to day 16, along with ongoing enrichment exercises until they leave for their new homes. Check out the video below for more info on ENS.

This is the setup the puppies use until they open their eyes and start exploring. The cameras allow us to keep a closer eye on the puppies, so we can help quickly if needed. Once they are old enough they graduate to the big kid upgrade with toys and textures.
